Design Manager – Enabling Works Contractor
Location: London region (remote/WFH and on projects) | Salary: negotiable day rate

We’re recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing Enabling Works Contractor delivering demolition, groundworks, remediation, and complex site-prep packages. They’re looking for a sharp, solutions-driven Design Manager to own the design process from tender through delivery.

The Role

• Lead and coordinate all design activities.
• Drive buildability, value engineering, and technical compliance.
• Liaise closely with clients, consultants, and site teams.
• Manage design risks, CDM, and temporary works input.
• If you’ve come up through an engineering/project management route, that would be a distinct advantage

What You’ll Bring

• Civil Engineering degree (preferred).
• Design management experience in civils, enabling works, demolition, or groundworks.
• Strong technical understanding and confident communication.
• Organised, proactive, and able to thrive in fast-moving projects.

They’re looking to achieve £20m turnover next year (not bad for a contractor that’s been established two years!) so this represents a fantastic opportunity to join at an early stage of their growth and development.
