Are you an ambitious Operations Manager or Contracts Manager ready to take the next step in your career?

An established civil engineering contractor is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to establish and lead its first Scottish office in Glasgow, driving the growth of its Structural Services division.

Covering concrete repairs, structural strengthening, diamond drilling and hydro demolition, this is a unique opportunity to build a regional operation with genuine autonomy, commercial responsibility and the backing of an established business.

The Role

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you’ll take ownership of establishing the Glasgow operation, overseeing project delivery and driving sustainable growth across Scotland.

Key responsibilities include:

• Establishing and developing the company’s first Scottish office.
• Managing the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of projects.
• Driving commercial performance, budgets and operational efficiency.
• Developing client relationships and securing new business.
• Recruiting and leading a high-performing local team.
• Working with senior management to deliver the Scottish growth strategy.

About You

You’ll be an experienced operations or contracts professional within civil engineering, construction or specialist contracting, with a strong track record in project delivery, commercial management and team leadership.

You’ll also bring:

• Strong commercial awareness and operational leadership skills.
• Experience developing client relationships and winning work.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and the drive to build and grow a business.
• The ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

Experience in structural services or a related specialist contracting sector would be a significant advantage.

Knowledge of the Scottish construction market would also be beneficial.
