This contractor has a long established name in the London enabling works market. Their sweet spot is taking on complex projects up to £5m, predominantly in zone 1. These projects will usually involve strip out works, structural modifications, asbestos removal, temporary works, façade retention, civils etc.

You don’t need to have an extensive track record within this sector but it would obviously help, but as long as you have circa 10 years experience post grad, and who can take responsibility of a number of projects, that’s the key. Someone who’s ambitious to develop into the Head of Commercial sometime in the next few years. The only caveat is a relatively stable work history.

• Cost planning & forecasting
• CVR reporting
• Monthly valuations & final accounts
• Procurement and management of sub contractors
• Regular site visits/working with site management
• Liaising with clients and consultants
• Managing multiple projects

Ideally you’ll have/be:

1. Solid experience within the specialist civil engineering market
2. HNC/HND or Degree qualified
3. Experience working for a specialist principal contractor or subcontractor
4. Proven track record of managing projects £1m to £5m
5. Good understanding of NEC/JCT contracts
6. Solid understanding of contractual risk
7. Good communication & organisational skills

The head office is near London Bridge and pretty much all of their projects are on the doorstep.

Salary to £110k + bonus/bens. A start with this contractor in January would be preferable.
