Contracts Manager – Civil Engineering

This isn’t a “keep things ticking over” Contracts Manager role.

This is a chance to step into a senior leadership position with a growing civils contractor that’s scaling fast, winning major work, and building a strong reputation with Tier 1 clients across the UK.

Backed by a £150m+ group, the civils division has already grown to £35m+ and is continuing to expand with a strong pipeline of secured infrastructure projects ranging from £1m–£20m.

They’re looking for someone who can lead from the front — commercially sharp, operationally strong, and confident managing multiple projects, clients, and teams at once.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Overseeing 3 to 4 live civils projects across the region (bulk earthworks/excavation, deep drainage)
• Leading project teams to deliver safely, on programme, and profitably
• Managing NEC contracts, commercial performance, risk, and change control
• Working closely with Tier 1 contractors and key stakeholders
• Driving delivery standards across operations, commercial, and HSEQ
• Supporting the growth and direction of the business as part of the senior leadership team

What They’re Looking For

• Strong background in civil engineering and infrastructure projects
• Experience operating at Contracts Manager or senior operational level
• Solid NEC knowledge (JCT/FIDIC exposure beneficial)
• Commercially aware with experience protecting margins and managing risk
• Strong leadership skills and confidence managing multiple live jobs
• Someone proactive, hands-on, and solutions-focused
