Head of Asbestos

A leading Central London engineering contractor is appointing a Head of Asbestos to lead and grow its asbestos division.

Reporting directly to the Demolition Director, you will take ownership of strategy, compliance, operations, and commercial performance across asbestos surveying, management, and licensed removal works. Projects tend to be extremely complex cut & carve/demolition, groundworks, piling, superstructure, acting as PC working directly for clients and developers. Schemes, in total, up to the value of £70m across zone one.

Mandate

• Lead and scale the asbestos division across London and the South East
• Ensure full compliance with Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and HSE standards
• Act as senior technical authority and duty-holder
• Drive operational performance, margin, and P&L
• Strengthen governance, auditing, and accreditation (UKAS/ARCA/ATaC as applicable)
• Support tenders, frameworks, and key client relationships
• Build and develop high-performing technical and site teams

About you

• Senior asbestos leader with strong technical credibility
• Licensed removal and/or consultancy background
• Proven experience managing regulated operations at scale
• Commercially astute with P&L accountability
• BOHS / RSPH qualifications essential; higher-level certifications desirable
