Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering
Join this £50m turnover privately owned civil engineering contractor as they continue to grow..
One challenge in the industry right now is the general feeling of instability. Whilst there seems to be a fair bit of work around, progress and growth is being hampered by delays in start dates of key projects. It can mean a lack of confidence and sometimes worry in whether there’s enough to sustain employment.
If you feel this might be you, it’s time to consider your career options.
Despite the above paragraph being broadly accurate, there are exceptions. Plenty of contractors are getting it right – strong focus on service delivery, stable workforce, a healthy spread of clients (private and public sector). Growth is happening when the foundations are solid. It means they can confidently plan and offer genuine career development.
I’m recruiting for one of these clients. They’re after a Quantity Surveyor who’s got some decent experience in civils, infrastructure and groundworks to oversee projects across the Midlands. Bridges, 278 works, roads, marine works, industrial. A decent spread of projects across the public and private sector.
Crucially, they’re busy – now and with a healthy pipeline. They can offer genuine autonomy and career progression, meaning you can develop your skills as a QS and set your sites on getting to Senior. There’s plenty of support and mentoring as and when needed.
So what about you?
- Degree qualified (or similar)
- At least five years working as a Quantity Surveyor
- Experience within civil engineering (would be great)
- Ambitious, good team player
- Based in or near Birmingham
Salary £50k to £60k (dependant on experience) plus bonus/package.
I’ve got some further details on the role and company, so contact me if you’d like a chat.
You never know it could hit the spot.
